Theya, the YC Bitcoin Startup
Meeting the founders of Theya, a Y Combinator-backed startup, building their own Bitcoin wallet
Last week, I met the founders of Theya, a recent company that ran through the Y Combinator program in Bitcoin. The founder of Theya was interested in Bitcoin for a while, and he noticed that the existing software wallets had lousy user experiences. So he gathered together some of his friends from Google to build a wallet that would embrace some of Silicon Valley's standards for UI/UX. Any Bitcoiner knows that dealing with Bitcoin addresses is a pain, and so are even QR codes.
Y Combinator was not that useful for them since they have so many other companies to advise in any given batch. But their demo day allowed them to raise some money that kept them going. Now they are trying to expand their reach by contacting influencers on Twitter/X to get them to recommend the product.
